I have fiber optic internet through comporium. There is a gatway outside and an eithernet cable coming from wall into netgear router privided by isp. I purchased better asus router but it cant find internet access. I tried cloning MAC address. I can't get internet access plugging eithernet directly into my laptop either. Only through netgear router can I get internet access, (either by wifi or connected in). Asus instructions say to unpug modem first but I have no modem in the house.

Please help, company comes out monday to look but would really like to solve before then.

Your isp will have to enable your device on their system. Sounds like they use mac address filtering. You will have to call them and let them know what your mac address is on your router. They should have told you that when you called. Have you tested your network cable to make sure it is good?
