Well I am at my wit's end with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My old computer had an accident (10 year old kids + broken usb slots) and I had to rebuild. When I install windows 7, I get to the logon and bam. It freezes. I can boot into safe mode and safe mode with networking okay, but not normal windows. I think this is a driver issue on start up that is problem and not hardware. Im able to install winxp pro sp3 and run it fine. I am able to install ubuntu and run it fine. Which tells me hardware is working okay. I've reinstalled clean twice and same thing.

Here's what I've done:
Install windows 7 ult 64bit clean install (diskpart, clean all, format in ntfs, etc).
I have to disable drivers in device manager to get install to complete
Its a barebones install (1 ssd, 4g ram stick, etc) no peripherals plugged in
Bios is flashed and up to date

Specs:
asus m5 a97 LE r2.0 mobo
amd fx 6300 processor
x1 4gigs ddr3 1600 ballistix sport
geforce 610 gfx card
samsung 850 evo 120gb ssd

help please!

Update: So i figured out the driver that seems to be causing the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I go into device manager under processor and disable all my amd FX drivers. If they are enabled, bam freeze on start up. If I disable, them I can boot normally. If I try to turn them on when booted into regular windows the computer freezes. I tried doing "update software" from DM where windows downloads the drivers and no luck.

Im going try something like driver sweeper and using the mobo CD and install them. Ill keep you posted! Any thoughts in the mean time are much appreciated.

Okay another interesting update. So I can enable 5/6 of the amd fx drivers which I assume corresponds to cores. When I enable the 6th the computer freezes. No blue screen or anything. I have to hard reset. Running some windows updates now to see if that may fix the problem.

Did the Windows updates fix anything? What was your final solution? because as it just happens, I also use AMD CPU, Samsung SSD and Nvidia GPU. I am having the exact same problem.
