Hi folks! I've had my Altec Lansing AVS200 since 2001 and they've performed great ever since. However, I've recently decided to give my old rig to my parents so that they can use it to Skype/MagicJack with their friends, and I had to give them my trusty old AVS200 (for obvious reasons). The pair I had had been through the ringer, travelling half way around the world with me for work and back, they've survived falling a short flight of stairs, and have even survived a couple of 3ft drops. Sure, they look banged up, but they still sound as clear as they did when I got them out of the box (on lower volume levels...they pop and crack when I max them out).
I was wondering if there's anything out there nowadays that can compare to the build and audio quality of my AVS200's for under $50US? Any suggestions?
