My dad wants to upgrade from his Bloomfield chip. But he dosent want to go through the bs of installing everything again. Is there any way he could retain even some of his stuff and carry it over?

Sorry, but a change in the motherboard chipset all but requires a clean installation of the OS and all your programs. You *can* try uninstalling all chipset drivers and then once installed into the new system, on first boot, have the new motherboard drivers available for install, but even if that does work, it's likely to be so clunky that you'll end up wanting to do a fresh install anyway.
