Hi,
my friend is building a new PC and he'll have a GIGABYTE MOBO, LGA1150, IH97 (GA-H97-HD3 model).
He'll be running Windows 8.1 x64 on it and have a 240 GB SSD, a 1 TB HDD and an optical drive.
So, should he go with MBR or GPT? He's leaning towards MBR for compatibility reasons (and since his drives are smaller than 2 TB).
What should be canged in the Gigabyte UEFI to make it work with MBR disks? Secure boot? CSM? What about fast boot? Mode is still AHCI, right? What else?
In real world, from your experience and looking practically, would you suggest going MBR or GPR? Are there any real benefits (security and performance wise) using GPT and UEFI secure boot and whatnot?
Thank you!
