When at my desktop (PC) I cannot connect to the internet. The cable modem is working and I am getting WiFi on my laptop (Mac). I have gone through Windows diagnostics and am told the problem is the modem, which does not make sense to me since it's working (all lights are on) and I'm getting WiFi from this modem via my wireless router on my laptop.
Cable modem and wifi is working but desktop computer can not connect to the internet.

We had a member of the Geek Squad in and lo and behold the problem was the Soros music unit that was connected to the desktop. The cables provided with Soros are not the best and if they bend in any way (which ours did) they can break internally and cause havoc, which is what happened. The Geek switched out the cable and we're operating beautifully now!
