Hello guys,

I want to build a new Gamer PC. Following parts i would take:

Zotac Geforce GTX980Ti AMP! Extreme
Intel Xeon1232 v3
Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 Sockel 1150 ATX
8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz (dual)

My Question now: The graphicscard.. is it usefull to buy this card for 750€? How long can i play games at FullHD wiht ultra settings? ATM you can play witcher3 with FullHD and Ultra at more then 100FPS.

Please help me guys :)
THX
greetings

For 1080p gaming i would rather pick up the gtx 980. i use it myself and on this resolution is enough. of course you will have more fps with the 980ti, but the 980 can already play all games on ultra 60fps so... the 980ti is more like an 1440p - 4k card. the 6gb framebuffer has no advantage on 1080p. 4gb is the needed and ideal for this resolution.

How long... that's a good question. if i'd have to bet i'd say 2015-16 games will run fine on 1080p ultra on the single 980 on ultra especially if they get DX12_1 support later this year(very likely) and 2016games will already come with dx12, so i'd say a maxwell card is a very good investmen, ehm actually the best investment you can do looking at the current gpu market.

If i were you i...

If i were you i would definitely drop to the 980 and spend the money elsewhere: get a g-sync monitor, get 16gb ram, get an i7 4790K, get watercooling. :)

Yea definitely get a 4790K, because the Xeon isn't very good for gaming. Get at least 16GB of RAM, 24 if you really want. You probably would benefit best from getting a EVGA GTX980. But what also might work is getting a graphics card that cost 300-400 and getting two of them for SLI. That's up to you. Either way you're looking at 3-4 years before you see a big difference. And if you take good care of it, 6-ish years if your willing to deal with slightly less performance gradually after 3 years.

gtx 980ti is built for 2560 and 4k gaming. Also dont go xeon. go 4790 or bump up to the 5820 or above and hit ddr4 ram. much faster and better cache.
im currently looking into 980TI but only due to the 4k gaming aspect. If you only intend on running 1080p got gtx980 as the TI will only provide benefits for about 6 months further than the 980 in 1080p standards as time goes. I avg a top end GPU every 2 years myself. only reason upgrading now is not only DX12 but also that 4k holy grail.
