Hi, yesterday a problem started occurring with my graphics card. It was working fine the night before but in the morning when I started up my PC the problem started. After it gets past the Motherboard start up screen and the windows starting screen my computer screens go black, sometimes with horizontal multi-coloured lines randomly throughout the screens, everything else is black other than the small welcome box in the middle of the screen. After that they are completely black and I cannot even see my cursor, pressing ctrl+alt+del doesn't do anything either so I have to manually switch off the PC using the switch. The first time it happened, all I did was boot into safe mode and then restart from there and it seemed to work for about 1 hour until I was watching a video on youtube and the screens just froze and went a solid colour, not black but it seemed to be the colour of the web page I was on. I tried to restart it from safe mode again but this time it didn't work.
My Specs:
Case: Zalman Z11 Plus
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7850
CPU: Intel i5 4670k
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87X-D3H
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance
What I have tried so far:
I unplugged my GPU and cleaned out my case and components using compressed air, and even tried putting my GPU into another PCI slot.
I used 3dGuru to completely delete all of my graphics card drivers and then installed the newest versions from the AMD website, this worked for a while but the same thing happened again after one hour.
The only way I can start up is in safe mode or if I go into safe mode and disable the AMD Radeon 7800 series display adapter through the device manager.
I have not tried a clean windows install as I don't think that would work but if you think it might then I guess I can try it. Other than that I think my Graphics Card is broken and I needed to update it anyway so if it is definitely broken then some recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to anyone that contributes!
