Hey guys, I was wondering on how do you view the different types of wireless speeds through the terminal. e.g, 802.11g/n. & how many Mb/s can tell each speed?

The reason I ask is because wired or wireless, my laptop & desktop seem to get the same download speeds, 2 MB/s.

According to speedtest.net...
Ping: 50ms
Download Speed: 3.49 Mbps
Upload Speed: 0.43 Mbps

I use Verizon DSL internet.

So, is there a problem, or no? What service you've signed for?
"Download" speed depends on lot of factors, not just your ISP plan.

Well, lately I've been getting sudden disconnects from PSN & I can't sign on most of the time. I asked my friends on PSN saying if they're having any disconnects & they said no. Could my router be the problem? I use a D-Link 2750B. It was provided by Verizon.

The internet speed results that I said apply to my laptops in the house & my desktop that I built. Wired & Wireless. I tried an 802.11n wireless card & got the same speed. I got the same speeds from 802.11g also.

I am still trying to understand your original question. Whether you use G or N wireless, your Internet experience is limited by the (slow DSL) Internet connection. If you have problems with connecting to a particular Internet site, you should investigate that part, not your WiFi connection.
