My Motherboard Down-Clocked my Memory to 1400mhz, and I can't change it...

I really don't know what the problem is. Here's the deal. I purchased a set of G.Skill Sniper clocked at 2400mhz. The motherboard (Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H) I purchased only clocks to 1600mhz. (I knew this when I purchased. The only reason I purchased the RAM is because it was $52 or something and it was such a good deal.) I know that when RAM exceeds the clock speed the motherboard allows, it downclocks it to the highest possible speed. This would, in theory, be at 1600mhz. However, this wasn't the case. The memory downclocked to 1400mhz, rather than the expected 1600mhz, and I couldn't change it (in the BIOS). The area to change the clock speed was grayed out and I couldn't select it or change anything. I don't know what's up. The only thing I think I could do is update the BIOS, because it's not at it's complete version, but that also had problems when I tried to do it. You see when I updated the BIOS, it gave me an error message saying that I couldn’t do it because “...due to incompatibility with 64-bit version of Windows”, which also makes no sense to me. All I want to do is change the clock speed to 1600mhz rather than 1400mhz, because I know that is what the motherboard supports.

If you know what to do, please say something! I really need some help!
Thanks!

Huh. Oh well. I mean it's not like I would really need or even notice a 200mhz difference, I just wanted to get the most out of my RAM with the motherboard I had. I'm just surprised I couldn't find the information online that specified that the Pentium G3250 only went up to 1400mhz.
Well thanks for the responses!
