I am thinking of getting an Intel Compute Stick to turn my TV into a computer (the Win 8.1 version) so I can watch BT Sport on the TV. I have all the required peripherals (mouse, keyboard etc) but a couple of questions:

1. Would the Intel Compute stick be able to handle BT Sport? (live 1080p video)
2. Is there another (cheaper) option that would do the job?

Thankyou.

Solution
The compute stick should be able to handle it, it is really then a question of if your WIFI can support it. Can you stream it today to a laptop in 1080p?

Yes, my Wifi can handle it. I have an extender near the back of my TV anyway, so I can use a USB to Ethernet adapter instead of Wifi. Thankyou for the quick response.

Thanks for the response.

I should be able to use a USB hub to access a keyboard, mouse and Ethernet adapter.
