Do you get hard drive activity with bad RAM?

A few days ago, I was playing Counter Strike and my ping was ridiculously high so I restarted my computer and when I restarted it, it said "Overclock has failed!" and I could either hit f1 to run setup of f2 to load default values. My keyboard wasn't working for some reason so I just hit the reset button and now when I boot my computer everything turns on except the video. I have already ruled out the GPU because I tested a working one on it and it still didn't work. About the "Overclock has failed" message, the only think you could say I was "over clocking" is my RAM because I manually set the clock to 1886 mhz. Could I have done it wrong and ruined my memory or could it be something else? I'm willing to buy a new part I just want to know what is wrong.

Anytime you manually set RAM or CPU frequency, it considers it an "overclock", even if you're downclocking. So yes, your RAM being manually set to 1886mhz could trigger such a message. Did you overvolt the RAM to get it to that speed? How are you seeing "Overclock has failed" if your screen doesn't work? Do you see POST, and then the screen goes dark after POST? Have you tried doing a CMOS reset back to factory default?

The first time I restarted it, it gave me that message, which was when I reset my computer because my keyboard wasn't working. After I reset it, I don't get the message anymore because my monitor doesn't turn on. I set the volts to 1.5 since my BIOS was set to 1.49 so I figured it wouldn't hurt. I have tried moving the RAM to different slots and using one at a time. Every time I moved them I would take out the CMOS battery and put it back in. Still no results.

I did what you said and still, no luck. I can't even test anything since I have no display, and no on-board graphics.

When I pulled out the memory and powered it on, I got 3 beeps, which is normal. When I put the memory back in and power it on, I get no beeps.
