Are the GTX 970s looking at a price drop anytime soon?

I am planning on buying one in between july and christmas and was wondering what the optimal time would be. I live in Canada btw with a budget 450 bucks ABSOLUTE max.

They just dropped after the 980Ti and AMD 3xx series annoucements...I wouldn't expect too many further decreases till after Xmas

Did the 970 drop? It's still the same price as always before and after the 300 series from AMD released, as well as the release of the 980 TI on all retailer websites for me. The only drop in prices made was the GTX 980 itself.

As for if they will drop, probably not. If they do it might happen once we get some actual benchmarks on the AMD R9 Fury and FuryX get released. If it is as good as AMD claims, for that price. It is going to be hard to beat a 550 USD air cooled Fury thats more powerful then a 980 TI.

We have yet to see if the aircooled variant is as powerful as suggested by AMD...exciting times.

I think AMD really dragged us forward!

I know I'm still waiting for a price drop as I just built my first gaming PC I have a GTX 960 2GB SuperSC and I am considering returning it for a second hand one GTX 970
