(Blue screen) Windows 8.1 problem, don't know what to do anymore ;/

Hello, I've been playing a game, suddenly my laptop got a blue screen "Your PC ran into an error, please restart" and it keeps doing that over and over again, If I try to put in the win disk, it's stucking if I try repair or install. Is there a tool, or anything I can use/do to fix this...please help me out :(

I also get a blue screen after leaving my Windows 8.1 open for a while without any action and can only get out of it by doing the ctrl-alt-del and log off . When I re login I lost everything that was unsaved and have to restart all my applications to continue work.

Now I have read a lot of "blue screen" forum replies and most suggest to do a clear reinstall of windows.

Sure I can go and do a backup but what about all the apps that I need to reinstall and the fact that I did a 8.1 upgrade, where do O get the "clean" 8.1 to start with.

Sounds like a canon to kill a mouse no?

If my "hanging blue" was just the screen saver apps, how can I reset THAT part first?
