AMD Athlon 2 x3 425

Solution
Your CPU speed -and other components- are tied to the system clock. The clock speed is 200MHz. In order to raise you CPU speed, you must raise your system clock.

When doing so, you must drop the multipliers of the components. This must be done in the BIOS (AMD OverDrive does not work on nVidia motherboards).

Read your manual -the BIOS section- and concentrate on ...

1) Raising the system clock (sometimes called the 'FSB');
2) Dropping the RAMs divider (1 notch down from 333MHz); and
3) Reducing the HT Link speed.

You should have appropriate utilities to test for temperatures and stability when you over-clock. You should also read and understand how to reset your CMOS if/when you encounter any problems.
