R9 280x 3gb vs r9 380 4GB

Hello toms hardware people i am looking for help i just sold my old 7850 and want to upgrade i ve been looking around the web and found a good deal on an r9 280x on amazon but need to choose between r9 280x ,r9 380. i am looking to do 1080p gaming on ultra not going lower than 40FPS on most titles that i play ex: like Metro last light, Metal Gear Solid V, the witcher 3, shadow of mordor and project cars also i am on a budget of 250$ if you can help me it will be much appreciated

The 280x is the stronger card for your 1080p gaming. For 1440p you might want the extra GB, but playing shadow of mordor on ultra I would probably go for >4gb playing 1440p. Shadow of Mordor is a very VRAM hungry game.

The 300 series has proved to be a disappointment so far.

In the end i picked up the 380 i mean it had 4gb (thinking in those fallout 4 textures) the fact that it supports better DX12 true audio free sync and Virtual Super Resolution it will also be easier to sell when the new lineup of cards arrive cause i promte it as a newer product also less TDP and the diffrence in most benchmarks is for 10 to5 FPS not a big deal keeping in mind that the drivers are new and DX12 is coming
