Windows 7 Updates after Formatting

Hi,
So I recently formatted my computer due to a long list of problems that have now all been fixed thanks to the format (yay), but I was wondering if I would have to reinstall all the Windows updates that I previously had. Since I haven't formatted this computer ever before Sunday (I bought it in around 2010, so that's more than five years of running the same untouched OS), I've had a LOT of updates installed to it. Now that everything has been wiped, will I have to go through the process of installing thousands upon thousands of Windows updates again?

Thanks in advance,

Dobiwobi

Sorry, but if Windows has been updated since the release of your OS disk (post SP1, I guess), then any Windows updates past that will need to be reinstalled. Depending on your settings, Windows Update may do this on it's own or you can initiate the process, manually, but all those updates will eventually need to be installed.

If you mean windows updates, windows will take care of it, you don't have to worry about it and it will not take that immense time and thousands of updates. Windows figures out what's important to update by its own. Also if you have windows 7, in about 1 month you'll be able to update your windows to W10 free of charge.

Thanks for the quick answer! That sure clears a lot of things up for me. Though I still can't find the Windows 10 logo on my taskbar so I can reserve my copy...

What are those? Sorry, I'm not particularly tech savvy.

Bummer. Oh well, at least updates now actually install (prior to me formatting the computer, updates would fail to install almost every time, same goes for Nvidia drivers and other important things).

I didn't exactly build it myself. I chose the parts separately, and the guys at http://www.dinopc.com/ (I hope it's okay to post links here) put it together for me.
