Hello, I have a question regarding my pursuit for a decent 1440p/4K gaming monitor, to replace my 1080p 60hz 5ms TV that I have currently.

I've done some research prior to asking this question, but I lack the experience required to make a solid judgement on the variation of choices that are available.

Here is a 60Hz 1ms 4K monitor I have in mind: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351268939861?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Here is a 144Hz 1440p monitor: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acer-XG270HU-27-inch-LED-144Hz-Gaming-Monitor-2560-x-1440-1ms-Speakers-HDMI-/161735180143?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item25a82aff6f

I don't know much about G-Sync, but would getting a G-Sync 1440p monitor, over a regular 4K 60Hz be better in the long-run?

My current build has a GTX 970 single graphics card, but I'm planning to go to a GTX 980 ti, then in the future, SLI two 980 ti's for 4K. The CPU will also be an Intel i7 4790K. Thanks for your help!

No point in buying a monitor you can't take advantage of. Either way you will need a SLI of cards to run 1440p at 144hz or 4k @ 60hz. Both are just as hard on your system with the 1440p being heavier.

Do you think a dual GTX 970 would handle 1440p at 144Hz? But the human eye can only see around 70 frames a second, right, so maybe the 4K 60Hz monitor would be the ideal choice, with SLI 980 ti's.
I've already got one 970, so I'd only need to purchase another. Thanks

Dual GTX 970's will work well. Just make sure to keep the MSAA/AA down. You don't really need those at 1440p.
The human eye doesn't see in fps. That is not how it works; however with 60fps the difference becomes less and less, but never stopping. Also you have less lag playing at 144hz. Think about it this way 1 frame per second equals 1000ping, 2fps is 500ping, 4fps is 250ping, 8fps is 125ping, and so on. Your eyes will adjust to the 144hertz and after a week even windows will feel much smoother.
