PC reboots while playing during power outages.

My PC reboots during power outages only when i'm playing games. It's connected to a 750VA UPS. I'f i'm just surfing the net, watching videos or anything else and a power outage occurs, it doesn't shut down and gives me time to save everything and turn it off manually until power comes back. But if i'm playing, say Far Cry 4 and a power outage occurs, it reboots and i get the Asus Power Surge protection message.

I checked PSU voltages with HWMonitor and they are normal on the 3.3V, 5V and 12V. Is it my UPS fault?

Am i exceeding the wattage output of my UPS so it can't keep up when power goes out? why doesn't it shut off when power is on?

According to the eXtreme power supply calculator, my system consumes 450W approximately when under load.

My system specs:

Cooler Master GX750 PSU
Mobo Asus P8Z77V-LX
Core i7 3770 @3.4 Ghz
RAM Corsair Vengeance 8Gb (2x4Gb) @1600Mhz
Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 280X Vapor-x with Tri-X
1Tb HDD Caviar Black
2Tb HDD Caviar Green

Thanks beforehand

UPS not fast enough? Try running your pc off the UPS for kicks. Does that run?

Does the UPS take to long to start in on heavy loads? Try running your system off the UPS while gaming see how long it goes. Maybe try running it while gaming and unplug from outlet?

I tried that, just a little bit differently. I left Far Cry 4 running and shut down the energy on the house (trying to "mimic" a power surge lol) and it rebooted. Did the same while not playing, just watching videos or surfing the net, and nothing happened.

I mean, if it actually was my GX 750 PSU's fault, the PC would shut down while gaming, no matter if there was a power surge or not, wouldn't it?

How about try starting your system just off the UPS. Does that work? if so try starting a game and see how long it goes/ Sounds like the UPS is not powerful enough for you.

I just did what you told me, and the PC starts normally just off the UPS. No problem there. I started the game and when i clicked to start playing, it started loading everything and boom! restarted again and the Asus power surge protection messaged showes up.

I play for hours straight, so if it was my PSU, the PC would just shut off while playing after some time, regardless of power surges or outages, wouldn't it?

Yes it is your UPS being to weak.

thank you very much, i appreciate the help! :D i'll get a new and better one. probably 1000VA would suffice. i don't think i'd need more than that, would i?

Well if your goal is to keep playing in a 10 minute or less power outage that will work fine. I have the same issues in my area and I only need a UPS for about 5 minutes.

Yeah, well, my goal is that my PC doesn't suddenly reboot, as i don't want to damage any files or stuff because of unexpected outages. 5 minutes of battery time are enough for me to save progress, document changes and shut down manually too, lol.

Well more so 5 minutes to me in my area is enough time for the power to come back on.
