Hi guys i need some help.

Recently my brother used an app called bundle so everyone at his wedding could upload photos to this app which was great almost 1,500 photos but only downside is that the photos are all over the shop when i have downloaded them from the app, they seem to be in order they were uploaded and i could really do with them being sorted some how in the time they were taken.

is this a possibly with some software or am i just going to have to sort out the photos manually :(

Solution
Put the photos all in one folder, right click anywhere in that folder that isn't a file and select "sort by" and "date". Time created should be part of the date information.

nah Darkbreeze i generally think its pulling the date and time it was uploaded to the app and not the date and time they were taken which is a pain in the butt but thank you for your help though much appreciated

The biggest problem may be due to the fact that not every person was likely to have had their devices accurately set for the time and date. I have cameras I never bother to sync as I just use them for various construction projects and am unconcerned with the timestamp. That could contribute to the issue as well as the upload platform possibly changing the file details. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

darkbreeze i was reading something about disabling auto arrange which would probably help from here

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/92758-windows-explorer-auto-arrange-disable.html

but i downloaded the bat file and photos still inside my folder are still snapping to there original place if that makes sence. what would ultimately help me out if i could freely move them around into some kind of order then once in order i can rename them 1,2,3 etc etc

is this auto arrange thing my issue here with being able to move them around freely or is there some software you might know about that would help me with this? thanks in advance

Thought id post the solution to help with my own problem as ive just figured it out!

in windows xp you could move files around in a folder by turning the snap to grid off but in windows 7 this feature was removed and the only way you could move files around freely to where ever you want them would be on the desktop

BUT!

if you transfer them to a usb stick then you can have that feature back, turn off snap to grid and move them around to where ever you want, im happy now lol just sad that i have almost 1500 pictures to sort into some form of order :(

I'd make sure, before you go through all that, that you aren't trying to sort them by date modified, rather than date created, as seen here:

http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/202175-modified-dates-reset-moving-files.html

By default windows goes by the date the file was last modified when sorting by date, but if you enforce sorting by date created, it usually works out. Of course, if the upload application entirely created new files, then the point is moot as the properties would have been changed.

i was trying to sort them into time order but that went out the window because it was pulling the time from the uploading to the app rather than the actual time the photo was taken so i had to figure out another way of sorting them.

At first i was sorting them by name and renaming them 1,2,3 etc to get them to move to the top but that way too long winded and thought there had to be an easier way which by moving them to the usb stick allows me to move them to where i want them the rename, a hell of of lot quicker :) 2 folders down now already steaming ahead lol

thank you for your help though darkbreeze i really do appreciate it
