Yeah i've seen tons of links here and there but no good solid videos of someone overclocking this exact board.

since v 6.6 or sooner there has been update so you can overclock g3258 on this board.
i have even newer... 6.7 i think.

Well once i try to overclock anything past 3.2 any amount at 3.3 or higher it goes to windows loading screen but never shows the cycling balls. then restarts and shows bios or ask to run repair or start normally. (never says failed overclock or anything)

its aggravating that everyone seems to overclock with this board except me..

also when i do overclock and then go straight to bios after saving settings, it will show the current overclock speed. so it seems to overclock but never get past windows booting.

please help if you had this issue and resolved or something. sometimes if you have different motherboard but same issue can help too if you found the solution.

Thanks
J

Having the same issue. Just got these and built my little budget gaming pc yesterday. Updated the bios to 6.7, updates everything else and yet I can't even get it to o/c to 3.3...windows just wont start. Not sure what to do at this point after trying all day today to get this pc to o/c.

Thanks. Yeah I want to get to bottom of this. It would be stupid to go downgrade to 6.6 right?

Okay mate, go into the BIOS and reset everything to default. Make sure you have BIOS 6.7. Then, go to the "OC" tab. Change the "CPU Ratio" to 40 and the "CPU Core Voltage" to 1.2.

Press the X in the top right and confirm to save changes and exit. It should now reboot.

Yeah same thing happened. I did exactly what you said, are you sure there isn't anything else that you changed in the settings? put photo of your bios if you can. thx

Windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change.

i hit enter to start it.
Windows screen logo but doesn't show the windows 7 balls floating around then right back to windows failed to start screen.

but works normal when i put it to default settings and starts normal. but any oc change period it malfunctions.

If you have installed all of Microsoft's Updates even the optional ones, its one in particular that causes Windows 7 to not boot. Search KB3064209 uninstall it will ask for a restart. Restart your computer apply your OC settings and it should boot into Windows 7. I would suggest to hide that update for now if all goes well.
