I have my PC build all planned out and everything and am ready to purchase everything except for one thing... a bloody monitor. i have looked and looked and i cant find anything i like. My card is going to be a EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card (is that relevant? i don't know) and i want a monitor that is 24ish to 25ish inches, is 60-120hz and that had fantastic colors and HD 1080p. speakers i don't care about, also looks i don't really care about, of course i don't want something big and bulky, slim would be nice. (am i too picky? i feel like maybe i am too picky.) my build is 1000$ and that leaves my budget for a monitor at about 200$. now i am willing to pay more for a REALLY good monitor but it damn well be bloody worth it. Any ideas on what i should get? Suggestions are very much appreciated gents!

im not talking gaming grade monitor im talking a monitor that works FOR gaming not made ONLY for gaming in mind. I had monitors before that cost 159$ and they worked well for gaming on a gtx 660 at 1080p on 60hz. worked fine, maybe some ghosting and not just the GREATEST looking thing ever but it worked and that's all i care about, but i do understand what you are saying hence why i said i MIGHT be willing to pay more but that it DAMN well better be worth it.

well.....your card will push well above 60fps in most games on 1080. and IMO gaming at 120hz gaming monitor is great. and well worth it. your kind of selling yourself short buying a new computer that can perform well and buying an inferior monitor......remember its the only thing you actually SEE :)

fantastic point! this is why i need people who know more then i do about monitors to give me advice about what to get. But again my build is going to cost me roughly 1000$ http://pcpartpicker.com/p/j98v7P and that already the maximum of what i wanted to spend and i finally caved and went with this for playing GTA V on ultra ULTRA as well as other most recent releases that are triple A titles and hopefully future titles to come for a good while. So i could spend more on a monitor and i know you are right, i should but its stings a little to let all that money go. do you have a monitor in mind? i CAN NOT afford a 700$ monitor, not even a 500$ monitor. NO bloody way. 300+ eh maybe but that's getting really high. so do you have something in mind?

http://www.amazon.com/VG278HE-27-Inch-Screen-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00906HM6K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435026660&sr=8-1&keywords=27+120hz&pebp=1435026635209&perid=1M4BMJR0VEEQ8M62P5FG thats pretty much as cheap as they come. for one you at least know wont go black in a month. asus support is generally very good. nothing amazing about it. but its solid - and certainly better than your run of the mill. your fantastic colors idea just isnt going to happen at this price range as you need to look into ips panels for accurate color. but im sure you will like the buttery smoothness

All my previous monitors have been asus, i had one for a year that was working like new and had nothing wrong with it but i sold it and got something a little bigger. the problem with this monitor that you suggested to me is that it wont fit in a suitcase, which it has to as i am buying it in the USA and flying it out of there to my country.

this actually looks really sweet, the problem is someone has mentioned that its possible that 144mhz us going to be too much for my GPU which i don't know if it is or not because im not that advanced in my tech knowledge.

it puts no more stress on your gpu than a monitor that can display 10fps. the only thing that stresses your card from your monitor is resolution. if it can only do say 60fps in gta. then thats all it will do dont worry about it bro, do it up and dont look back
