Hey all.

Just after some recomendations for an upgrade. I play Arma 3, DCS and GTA V on a tripple head display (5760x1080) with an average of 40~ish FPS. I do get lag spikes ocasionally (mainly Arma) as low as 20 FPS.

Currently running:
CPU: i7 3770 @3.4GHz
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M Pro
RAM: Kingston HyperX Genesis 16GB
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280
HDD: WD Black 2TB
PSU:750W

Note: I have my games installed on a seperated HDD to my OS

Cheers dazano1

Well there is ALWAYS room for upgrades. ;) But in your case, do you really NEED the upgrades? You're mostly likely not being bottle-necked from your CPU, so no point in changing that out. You could install your OS and a few games onto an SSD and that would make Windows seem all around snappier and games could potentially load faster, but it wouldn't help with FPS.

Realistically, the only thing you could upgrade that you would notice a difference is your GPU. Your PSU is powerful enough so that you could crossfire two R9 280s. Alternatively, you could get a FreeSync monitors, which woudn't help with FPS, but it would make everything seem oh-so-smooth.

It's true that I don't need to upgrade but it has been an idea for a while now.
After i got the tripple head set up with the new GPU it added quite a bit for the over all gameplay experience but I wasn't sure what was still restricting the performance.

Doesn't The GPU already use 500~W or am I mistaken on that?

I'm not entirely sure what it uses at max capacity, but my old system used two R9 280xs on a XFX 750W PSU and ran beautifully. What brand PSU do you have?

Never heard of Cooler Power, but a quick google search shows a Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus. It doesn't seem to be on the PSU Tier list so I'd personally upgrade the PSU before upgrading/adding a GPU. An EVGA SuperNova G2 750W runs for around $100 and is a great PSU at that price point.
