Installing games with an optical drive vs downloading?

Pretty simple question. Is downloading my games better or is using an optical drive?
And if I'm using an optical drive is it worth getting a Blu-Ray Optical Drive and buying drivers from Oneblue? (I don't have a Blu-Ray player so my gaming PC handling that would be neat)
Finally if an optical drive is better is there a acknowledged optical drive I should go with?
As always thanks for any advice.

All new games do when you put in a physical disk is download the game anyway, so its pretty much a wash except its much easier dealing with downloaded games....(you cant loose them) a blu-ray drive is worth it if you want to play blu-rays......and in general unless its really old all optical drives are the same

Some games won't fit on a CD eg GTAV - 60GB. But less than 5GB should. And save you the wait time (though there's usually updates) and data usage.

Most any DVD drive is cheap and OK these days.
