I recently decided to dabble in building my own pc. I picked up
Asus A99FX Pro R2.0
AMD FX 8350
and a v3 thermaltake case.
I'm transplanting my gtx 750 ti, Ram and an empty hardrive. The ram is within the frequency needed. My psu is 500 watts, When I hook up the psu, the 20 pin power and the 8 pin cpu power cords. My motherboard lights up with a green light but a red cpu led. I have the speaker installed i get no beeps not one. I checked the cpu there was no bent pins and I reinstalled it. Same thing. The only thing I didn't do so far is breadboard it and reset cmos. I have no idea how to reset cmos and scared to mess it up. Is it my PSU do you think? Bad CPU, bad motherboard? My psu still works I put it back in my old windows HP and it's what I'm posting with now. I expect I've screwed up somehow just not sure where.

Solution
other then trying out new ram and taking out the reset pin that comes from the case and attaches to the motherboard. you can get one of these

http://www.amazon.com/Motherboard-Diagnostic-Card-4-Digit-Analyzer/dp/B00FH7YONA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1435267805&sr=8-3&keywords=pc+analyzer

Once you put the Analyzer into the PCI slot and turn on the PC it will tell you codes or only 1 code you have to look in the manual and see what the code is for.

Buy the Analyzer but before you buy it i would like you to try 1 thing maybe we can fix the problem. I would like you to take out the graphics card (do not just disconnect, take the hole thing out) and hook up the Monitor to the back of the motherboard. then start the computer. Let me know...

Not at all. I can think of a couple options. This was my first build maybe I messed up and damaged something by accident. I know the PSU and GPU are fine. I took out the psu from my old pc and installed it in new build and then hooked it back up into the old pc and everything works beautifully still. Ram recognizes video working etc. and I hooked it up so I'm assuming I have at least a basic knowledge of that. There was no beeps and I've tried hooking the speaker in a few different ways just to make sure i didn't mess it up and nada.
