Budget Range: $350 (for just a graphics card) - $900

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, video calls, surfing the internet

Parts to Upgrade: GPU, CPU, mobo, RAM

Location: United States of America

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 2048x1152

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My system is no longer able to play newer games on high/ultra settings. Some of the newest games i.e. GTA 5, I really have to crank down the settings and it still doesn't run great (crashes sometimes due to not enough memory).

I am looking for advice on what to upgrade on my current system. Ideally I could just get a new GPU and get back to running everything on high+. But I am not sure if my CPU/RAM is still good enough to support a GTX 970 or 980, or if I need to upgrade. Would my CPU/RAM bottleneck a new GPU? Thanks for your help!!

My setup:

CPU: Intel i7-860 (with standard Intel cooler)
Mobo: ASUS (can't remember the model number)
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 of some unknown manufacturer (came from an HP computer)
GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 570 SC
PSU: Corsair TX750
SSD: Samsung 830 110GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Case: Coolermaster HAF 922

I am actually going to tell you to wait a bit. On GPU side, AMD's Fury comes out tomorrow. It should shake prices up some. Once the dust settles a little, get yourself a GPU, be it a GTX 970, 980, or one of the Fury models. That should give you a decent boost, even if you do bottleneck the new GPU some. In August, Intel will be releasing it Skylake based CPU's. Upgrade your CPU, MB, Ram then.
