I currently have 8gb RAM @ 1333mhz. I've been thinking for a while to upgrade it to a faster speed and possibly up to 16gb. but would it really make a difference? I mostly play games on my pc and just upgraded my GPU. I was just trying to play Batman: Arkham Knight earlier, and i noticed the frame rate dropped severely during certain parts of the game. I was wondering if my RAM had anything to do with that. but here's my specs:

Processor AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Memory 8.2 GB
OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit

Update: well i just saw this article about the game a few mins after i made this post. but still should i even bother upgrading my ram if i'm mostly just playing games? http://kotaku.com/batman-arkham-knights-pc-version-is-a-mess-1713351974?utm_campaign=Socialflow_Kotaku_Facebook&utm_source=Kotaku_Facebook&utm_medium=Socialflow

It all depends on the game, going up can provide increases of about 10% or more, but it's game dependent, as more developers utilize DRAM better, that will increase. Today, 1600/9 8GB is basically entry lecvel and most often you can get 1866/2133 at same price point, quite often 2400 sticks
