It looks like the heatsink you suggested does not fit an 1150 cpu/mobo is this ok?

Upon inspection of more heatsinks it looks like 1150 is not that widely supported. Should I stick with 1150? What is the advantage or disadvantage to this?

It is quite a common socket and the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO does fit on the LGA 1150.
Well if you doing quadruple GPU rigs then you cant use the 1150 but that is very uncommon.
It supports up 2 3 GPUs and it supports 4th gen chips.
It kinda all depends on the CPU you get. If you get a haswell CPU the you will need a 1150 but if you have Ivy bridge for eg then you will need an 1155. I wouldn't say their are advantages and disadvantages just depends on what CPU you get and then in that range pf CPU get the best motherboard you can.
