Hey everyone,

I have been working at this issue all day long and I just can't figure out what's wrong. I just built my new computer yesterday and the biggest issue so far is that there's no audio. I have tried installing many Realtek audio drivers with no luck. The speaker on the taskbar has an X over it. everything I have tried has failed to do anything. Is my motherboard broken? (I really, really hope not :( ). I also noticed that Windows is limiting my memory to only 8 of my 16 installed, and yes, BIOS confirms 16GB. Would Windows not let you use audio until you have activated it with a product key? (Haven't yet but will be later today) This is extremely frustrating. :( If you can help please feel free. Thanks.

Go to THIS PAGE and download the "On Board Audio Drivers". Install the drivers and see if that helps.

When I right click the speaker on the taskbar, I get these:
- Troubleshoot sound problems
- Playback devices
- Recording Devices
- Sounds
- Volume control options

In the Control Panel under Sound I get three of the same thing: Digital Audio (HDMI) High Definition Audio Device Disabled, unplugged

Are you using MB Sound or Discreet Sound Card?

Try double clicking on the disabled audio device and see if there is an option to "Enable" or some such.
