I apologise, I know this questions has been asked (I did search) but can't understand any of the answers (total noob). Anyway, recently built my first PC, very proud of it until tonight when I tried to play Mass Effect 2 when it told my my hardware wasn't up to scratch. did some checking and found that my GPU is not recgonised by my computer, at all. I search for new hardware in device manager but it comes back with nothing. Please if anyone can help, use small words, I am really REALLY new to this stuff.
My set up:
MSI Nvidia GTX 970 GPU
Intel Core i5-4690K CPU (Quad Core 3.5GHz, 6MB Cache)
Corsair AX760W Platinum PSU
G.Skill 8GBXL Main Memory DDR3
Asus BC-12D2HT Blu-Ray Combo Optical Drive
Corsair H60 Liquid CPU Cooler
MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Intel Motherboard

I'm really struggling here guys and begging if anyone can help me.

Open your pc back up and make sure the gpu is in the slot all of the way and check that your power cables are plugged into it all of the way. It is possible you forgot to hook up power cables to the gpu. After you do this make sure you plug your monitor into the gpu not the motherboard
