Do you guys recommend that I upgrade from 900p to 1080p for gaming?

Pretty much as the title says, will I see a noticeable difference in the beauty of a game? Is it worth losing a bit of fps from my gtx 960 for a higher res?

In most cases yes, 1080p is worth it.
However, if there is a substantial performance drop, which should only be the case in a few modern games, then you may be better off sticking with the 900p.
Typically there are performance options in game that you can adjust.
Test it out see if it's worth it for you.

As long as you aren't sacrificing a much performance then you should definitely upgrade to 1080p, but if you are going to have a significant performance drop then it's probably not worth it.

It is worth it, but only for a short time. once you get used to it, it won't feel any different, because that's exactly what people say for upgrading from 1080p to 1440p, and from 1440p to 4k. Once you upgrade, you'll never want to go below back and everything below that will feel jaggy and horrible. 1080p is the today's standard, though. According to a Steam survey 98% of gamers use 1080p panels. That means they're very cheap and I say it's worth it (if your hardware can handle it, of course).
