Earlier this was working fine, but I came home from work and it wouldn't work. If I have my VGA just plugged in it's fine, but as soon as I plug the HDMI in both screens go black and won't turn on until I unplug the HDMI.
Bad HDMI cable? Try a different one if you can.
Also check your settings, restore to default.
There could be some kind of power issues E.G bad power supply.

The power supply is new so that shouldn't be a problem. When plugging in another HDMI cable it doesn't seem to go black, but this one I need to use is an HDMI to VGA, which I just bought. I'm not sure why both displays go off when I plug this one in, though. Also, what settings should I set to default?
Do you mean the VGA? The converter I have is exactly the one in that first picture, and the VGA i have is 6 foot long. If I plug in the converter with no VGA plugged into it the screens still go black.
Oh, make sure you have the correct resolution.
VGA needs to be set at a specific resolution.
Digital HDMI/DVI will automatically pick up the resolution of a screen.

How can I change the resolution on the other monitor if both screens are black? Also, why would it work earlier and not now?
