This issue that I have when playing PC games really bugs me out and I can almost be certain that the screen tearing I get in games is worse than what other people get if their fps be above or below the framerate (For me its horrible at around 40-50 fps) the problem is extremely annoying and its really taking the fun out of the games I am playing unless they are at a stable 60 fps with vsync on (which in some games I want to keep off to partially help with framerates) something also tells me that It could be a hardware problem. My refresh rate is 60hz and I am playing at 1600x900 if the resolution has anything to do with it.

I have a good idea of how screen tearing is caused and that it has something to do with the monitor receiving multiple frames etc. and I am aware of adaptive vsync which i have tested many of times and received no further luck to eliminating or at the least reducing the problem. I heard that the screen tearing only happens on one half of the screen and there are about three lines that go across but on mine if the fps is not at my refresh rate the entire screen tears and there are what i can nearly count about 6-8 screen tears going across the screen at once.

Anything below 60 and above 60 fps will stutter or tear on your screan. Its not your system, its your monitor. I have the same issue on my crappy monitor (since i just bought it as a last second thought.) Just limit your frames to 60 and reduce your settings.

Even If I limit my fps to 60 without actually using vsync it screen tears (it seems I have to use vsync technology to actually remove screen tearing) although I don't want to use vsync in some games because it will drop to 30 if I don't keep a constant 60 fps. If there is another solution that I could even use to reduce the screen tearing it would be much appreciated. Thanks for the reply anyways.

Which port is your display cable plugged into. The mobo or the gpu?

Well I am using a gaming laptop so I can not say unless I take my laptop apart which I would do if I knew I would not damage it.
