I got a second GTX 670 to run SLI and I cannot get windows or BIOS to detect the video card. GPUZ and nvidia control panel also do not detect two cards. Here are some of the things I've tried.
#1 - Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers with only 1 card in the PCIE2 and then shutting down and plugging the second one in and also by installing with both cards installed (doing fully clean installs).
#2 - I've tried both cards in PCIE2 (top slot) and both will work independently.
#3 - Both cards will not work independently in PCIE3 (bottom slot). They will power up but they will not display.
#4 - I've reset CMOS.
#5 - I've flashed to the newest BIOS.
#6 - I've forced PCI to gen1, gen2, and gen3 instead of AUTO on both slots with both installed.
#7 - I've tried switching cards in different slots.
-I'm also using a bridge.
I've also noticed that by plugging in two cards, even though it will not detect the second card it will bring my card in PCIE2 from 16x to 8x speed when looking at it in GPUZ. So it must know theres 2 cards plugged in?
My specs:
Asrock extreme 4 z77 motherboard
4770k @ 4.2ghz
16GB G skill RAM
EVGA GTX 670 FTW signature 2 2GB RAM
Gigabyte GTX 670 2GB RAM
Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-900 900W
Windows 7 64 ultimate
Additional Information: This motherboard also had an issue with using more than 2 DIMMS at a time. When I switched to 16GB RAM I originally had two 4GB sticks and when I purchased 2x4GB more it wouldn't take more than 2 slots at once of the same RAM. I had to sell and purchase 2x8GB to fix the issue. I feel like this mobo just doesn't want to use more than half its given slots for any piece of designated hardware.
