I have an old HP Compaq 6000 Pro Microtower that has an integrated Intel graphics chip. It has always worked for running 3 monitors until recently, when it began refusing to display more than 2 screens at any one time. I run one from the (primary) VGA port, a second from the DisplayPort, and the third with a USB-to-DVI display adapter. I've eliminated the possiblity that the problem is caused by any of the cables, ports, connections, drivers, or monitors. When my system is under very low load, it is still using 3 GB of RAM, I think mostly for the displays.

I decided to upgrade to a real graphics card & bought the Gigabyte Geforce GTX 750. While installing it, I ran into a problem: the PSU doesn’t have a 6-pin PCI Express connector. It’s only a 320W PSU, so I decided to upgrade it as well & bought a better one.

When I went to install it, though, I realized that HP used proprietary connectors all through the machine. There is no 20/24 motherboard connector, no molex, and no PCI-E cables coming from the PSU, rather there are 3 types (labeled P1, P2, and P3) that power the motherboard, and all other components need to draw their power from the MB. So, I can’t replace the PSU because I don’t have any way to power the MB or other components.

Now I’m considering either trying to hook up and run dual PSUs (seems like maybe not such a good idea) or trying to find a graphics card that can run on a 320W PSU AND doesn’t need its own power connection AND can produce 3 independent simultaneous display outputs.

I'm not a gamer, and I don't do design, so there's not too much load on the displays. I work with spreadsheets, and use the internet, and Quickbooks, and that's about it.

I need some advice, and would love to get some recommendations for graphics cards that would meet my needs.

My system details are:

Thank you for taking the time to post in depth specs. I found a card that should work for you, but its the only card nvidia makes that has 3 monitor support and does not take an extra power connector, so if you cant make this one work, go over to AMD graphics and see what you can turn up there. The card is a GTX 745 (OEM). very difficult to find in stores because its very old and low end, but I did find a couple options to buy it. including links below.

hope this works out for you mate! :)

if you have available PCI slots on your motherboard you can get a simple (not for gaming) video card that does not require extra power, you can get more than one, depending on how many PCI slots you have available.
