Wireless-enabled Win7 Desktop not able to connect to WiFi

I have a wireless-enabled Dell desktop that is running Windows 7. I have had it connected to my router with an ethernet cable for years, but have had to move it to another room. When I click on the connections icon in the bottom right of screen, it does recognize my Wifi Network, with plenty of strength (4/5). However, when I click "Connect", it appears to try and then I get a message that says "Windows was unable to connect to <network name>".

My laptop and all other wireless devices have no problems connecting. Any help?

I wasn't even at the prompt where I could type in the password. One site I saw earlier said I needed to turn off the security of the router temporarily, which I did. But this still doesn't work.

Sorry, I didn't see the "reply" button.

I agree, and it will only be temporary if this is the solution. It was just something I read earlier today. Still, I couldn't even get to the password prompt.
