I was having random BSOD with my XFX R7 260x so I figured I would try to get the updated drivers. I had driver 13.251.0.0 and it looks like the new ones are the 14.12 Omega (14.501.1003.0). I had all sorts of problems so I found this thread linked below:

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2415398/driver-installing-correctly-amd.html#16112307

I uninstalled CCC with DDU in safe mode. Redownloaded the 14.2 update and I get the "Windows requires a digitally signed driver" error for the display and HDMI audio drivers. If I try to open CCC, it says "AMD Catalyst Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyst Control Center". If I open AMD Gaming Evolved, it keeps telling me to go download the 14.2 driver again.

When researching this issue, it seems that the big problem was windows update KB3004394. I checked all of my windows updates and I dont have that update. Im current on my updates so my thought would be that windows much have finally removed it via another update.

When I first start my PC, it get this message:

Graphics
No AMD graphics driver is installed or the MD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware

If I go into the device manager, the GPU has the yellow warning marker next to it. If I click on it, it says: "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged or that might be malicious software from an unknown source (Code 52)".

My next thought was to wipe it all clean again with DDU and try the disk that came with the card since it had the old drivers. Once installed it did the exact same thing. Im starting to think that maybe it isnt AMD and its something with my windows. How do I get around the stupid "Windows requires a digitally signed driver"? Im thinking that is my issue. Again, I do NOT have KB3004394.

..

why not do things like whats in the cards driver release notes ??

using that 3ed party remover tool could of removed something it should not of ?? the cim has yet to let me down in any way over 14 years ..

why not list your system specs, and where you down load the drivers from and was it manually or auto update

CPU - Intel I7 930 @2.80 Ghz
Operating System - Windows 7 64 bit
MOBO - Pegatron Crop Truckee 1.04E01
GPU - AMD XFX R7 260x
PSU - EVGA 600W Bronze
Memory - 9GB DDR3 (not sure the speed or brand, its generic)
HDD - Segate 2TB

I finally got it boot up. The ONLY way it will load the graphics card is if I hit F8 upon startup and disable the digital driver certification which only seems to work for that startup. If I reboot, I have to do it again. All seems to be working other than my windows load time about doubled.

That 3rd part remover DDU seemed to be pretty highly recommended to get rid of all the old AMD drivers which is why I used it. I just wish I could figure out why my computer thinks that the AMD drivers are not signed?

I downloaded the AMD 14.12 drivers directly from the AMD website for the correct windows 7 64 bit operating system. As a test, I even tried using the disk that came with the GPU and installed those older drivers (after clearing the new ones). Either way works but they both do the same thing saying that the drivers are not signed. I guess my only option is to have a slow boot and hit F8 every time. :(

well its hard to say being a prebuilt computer - I guess all you can do is hope for the best - I never recommend gpu upgrades for them due to well known compatibility issues

if it just seems to be the signed issue I guess turn that off in windows ??

my disclaimer ....

some models of store bought computers [dell.hp,acer,ect..] may come with a ''locked or fixed'' bios and may not allow you to change certain hardware as a video card.. this is done to protect them from undue warranty claims and refunds .this is not done to hurt you but to protect them. you really need to see if that upgrade has been proven to work in your model first before you invest money in it .. there are a lot of these threads here at toms to look at some models will allow upgrades and some dont.. and a lot of guys here say ya ya ya when is really no no no...it would be sad you spent $200 on a card that wount post after you installed it as most find out. then get told its your psu and you spend more and end up right back where you are now, but its up to you good luck..

you got to know the the boards in these computers are not like the ones we use to do custom builds witch are open to upgrading with in the boards compatibly . the bios is custom made for there design and just for the parts they authorize to be used on there computers there only guaranteed to work as is out of the box as you bought it ,..

Yeah it was an HP 180t from 2010. I actually had best buy install that GPU a little over a year ago (before I knew anything about computer hardware) and have had zero issues until now. Regardless I already purchased a HAF 932 case and moved everything into it a few weeks back. I will NEVER buy another prebuilt PC again lol. Not that its gave me issues, I was just a complete noob then. Im waiting on Windows 10 to come out and then im picking up that, a new MOBO an i7 4790k, new ram and a MSI GTX 980TI GAMING 6G to power my 4k monitor. Maybe then ill just wipe this pc clean and reformat it as I wanted it as a secondary/backup.

Basically if my setup can last until the end of July for W10, that's all ill really need. Ill just reformat the HDD at that time as I was going to use this PC as a secondary/backup once the new one is built. Hopefully that will take care of it.

well if it was working fine then there must be something else going on .. last time I seen that driver deal was when that update came out but that was fixed unless Microsoft has another update that you got recently that does the same thing to drivers ???

did you turn off the driver verifier ???

one thing about amd is there cim .. if that don't get installed -uninstalled properly or the file gets damaged or corrupted it will spit out any amd driver until its fixed or corrected .. I think this is why a lot of folks have issues with there drivers ..

''The driver may be unsigned or corrupted ''
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff710454(v=ws.10).aspx

see when you use them 3ed party uninstallers that cim may of got done in ... I don't know If I can walk you through the repair cause I cant recall the steps off the top of my head and I don't want to tell you something wrong and have you screwed up more then you are now ...
