I'm currently on BIOS version 1.9, but I'm getting insane amounts of graphical glitches, stuttering, driver crashing, crashing in general. Some require a hard reset to fix, some require me to just hit ctrl+alt+del and then I can tab back into the game.

I've set the BIOS back to default settings and that seems to have made the issues worse (I had it OC'ed to 4.3GHz, 1.2V).

My BIOS version is v1.9, but there is a far more recent v1.B out on their website that now supports updates for 5th generation Intel processors. I have an i5-4690k Devil's Canyon (presumably Haswell). Is that a 5th gen processor?

Should I flash my BIOS to v1.B anyways? When I run AIDA64 it states as a suggestion that:

"Video BIOS is more than 2 years old, update if necessary."

Is that my Graphic Card BIOS or my actual motherboard video BIOS? I'm just confused about all of this.

To sum it up:

Should I update my BIOS to v1.B, is the "Video BIOS" separate from the main BIOS. I was told to update the "chipset," how do I find what chipset my BIOS is and how to update that?

I had the issues with a new GTX 970, and swapped it out for my old GTX 660 and I have the SAME issues, on 5+ different nVidia drivers. This is a brand new PC build.

Edit: Found https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775 for my Chipset (found out Z97 Express is my chipset). Should I do a fresh install of Windows and then download this + update BIOS to v1.B?
