I am looking to build a impressive looking machine that is going to be mainly for video editing & some gaming. I do not know what I want yet with most specs but I have narrowed down a few.

I will be doing no overclocking. I will be using 2 or 3 monitors, I want to transfer information quickly to my computer from Go Pro and any other devices, I want to have 3 drives, ssd for operation/software, 2nd drive for video pictures transferred onto computer, and 3rd for final product/preview/temp files.

Should I tone back some things for my limited ability? I'm a beggining editor and novice gamer

Chip: Intel I Core 7 5820
Storage: Samsung mz-75e 1tb SSD
Storage: Western Digital 2tb internal drive
Storage: Western Digital 2tb internal drive
Memory: 16 or 32 gb of Ares Series ram?

What else would you do to complete these build? Am i going overboard? I'm feeling pretty lost!! I do not want to spend big $$ on graphics card but do'nt want junk either

CPU + MB - The i7-5820 is meant more for overclocking / extreme efforts. This is also paired with an X99 motherboard raising costs. Instead, look toward a Xeon processor on the H97 platform for a non-overclocking setup.
MEM - As long as it is DDR3-1600 CL9 or lower, or DDR3-1866 CL10 or lower ...both at 1.5v, then you will be fine. 16GB is plenty!
SSD - Fine and all, but the 1TB size is expensive. Instead, consider a 256GB / 250GB SSD for your OS and apps, then use the hard drives for overflow / storage.
HD - I prefer one large drive over two smaller drives. No need to split things out...
GPU - The GTX 960 is overkill for video editing, but you will enjoy it while gaming. You could probably scale back to a GTX 750 Ti to save costs if your gaming is pretty light.
PSU - Stick with XFX or Seasonic.

Yeah buddy, you're missing a motherboard and a video card, disputably two of the most three important parts for a gaming rig (CPU being third). Cant reall say whether or not its good for gaming till theres that there. If you're playing at 1080p, take a look at the GTX 970 or the R9 390.
