Hello.
Yes, i'd like to know which irritating darn win7 processes that i can safely shut off while my older games are running. I'm quite sick & Tired of enjoying playing one of my older games and damn win7 crashing the game.
I do remember with win98 and winxp you could shut everything windows down except windows explorer and task manager back in the old days.

Now we have extra crap that tends to interfere with games running like for instance:
Windows audio device graph isolation
Host process for windows tasks listed under User
Windows explorer under user
task schedule engine under user
Desktop windows manager under user and Windows Task Manager listed under user.

WHich of these "Diva" programs can i safely shut off whilst my old game is running.

Also my older games are all repurchased from the site called "GOG.com" where the older games get the added programs to run correctly in the win7 stupidity environment.

Thanks for any assistance in resolving this matter.
And the reason i'm picking on these programs is i sometimes use a second monitor to just have the task manager open to see what crashes the game's mod that i'm testing at the time.

Thanks again for any assistance.

I use eset anti-virus, latest version and i use the "Gamer mode". i also have Malwarebytes free version installed.
I have never seen any indications on my second monitor that those two programs have ever started running when a ctd happens.
