My bro is eleven and I have been wondering about some games I could get on my steam account for his laptop. I narrowed it down to first person shooters because they seems simple enough for him to grasp. (He's not dumb or anything, he is in gifted classes, he is just more of a casual gamer) His laptop isn't a beast gaming laptop made by ASUS or Razer, so I want some older titles. (Or a newer title that is less demanding.) (I want 3 games, one of them should be an indie) (Try to make it under 5 dollars each) My ideas: Doom, Half Life, TF2, Duke Nukem Forever (just kidding), Quake 2 (don't know any indies) (My reason behind this is to give my bro some gaming nostalgia from games that aren't shovel ware or smartphone games like I had to deal with) Update: I forgot to mention that he does play outside a lot, so don't put that as a suggestion you clever ones!

Half life is definitely a good first FPS, because you're killing aliens, well mostly.
It also teaches him a lot of the basics of modern FPS games.
You could move up things like COD:MW1/2 next.

Here's the thing I'm going to recommend some games that are rated mature.
-Counterstrike global offensive very competitive game but very fun game and very easy to run on the computer.
-Payday 2 very fun co-op game basically you are a bank robber and are fighting off cops there is swearing and drugs however.
-team Fortress 2 which is free

I'd maybe let him try Doom and Wolfenstein series.
But make sure he can proprelly distinguish what's good and bad and make sure he realizes it's just a game. Remember those games are not made for a younger audience.

Some dude on another tread posted that he purchased a game called Murder Miners on steam for $.99.

LOL, looks interesting, also a FPS.

It's not Crysis but people seem to like it.

PS i hate saying it, Ghost Recon Future Soldier......don't buy it for anything more that like $5, only at that price point it is worth it. Has a nice long game play and a multiplayer.
