SSDs will not improve the performance of your ps3, if it ever does it is barely noticeable. You are better off sticking to something like a 500gb hard drive
Thanks for your reply, Reyaz123, and confirming it will work. My super slim already has a 500GB HDD. An SSD won't make a monumental difference for a SATA I interface-- but I've read many benchmarks and articles confirming the opposite, that it makes a significant improvement for load/install times. I know it would make better use in a PS4, however I'm not ready to make that shift yet as I have amassed a big library of unfinished PS3 games to play. Is it worth it enough to upgrade an aging console?
In all seriousness, it is not worth it to upgrade to an ssd on a ps3. You are better off using that money to purchase dlc missions for your unfinished ps3 games
Or save that money up for when you want to get a ps4
