So about a few days ago I managed to purchase an SSD to put my windows on it. Everything worked perfectly until my old 1.5 TB seagate hard drive started doing these clicking noises ocasionaly, about once every five minutes. The clicking noises are exactly to the ones where the disk stops spinning so I decided to investigate.

HDTune gives me a warning at the CRC Error count but I think that's just my faulty SATA motherboard. I also installed Seatools and ran every single test there with absolutely no warning or a fail, what I found odd however was my hard drive stopped clicking completely when it was under any kind of significant load. I've managed to record the sound exactly so feel free to skip to 1:46 to hear it, may have to turn the volume down a notch.

So in conclusion the problem started when I installed the SSD, did I do something wrong?

Also, I almost failed to mention that the hard drive was bought in june 2013 and is a certified repaired one.

I think that your Seagate hard disc drive has failed if it is clicking. I would not recommend using a Seagate hard drive to load your operating system on. They are great for storage but, I think less dependable for loading an operating system on. Solid state drives can fail but, it is much more rare. Can you boot into windows if the Seagate is disconnected? If so, it could just be that the Seagate failed. It is rare but I have come across a hard drive that appeared to be fine according to either Seagate tools or western digital diagnostic but the drive was still shot and would not work. Good luck.
