I will break this down for you as simple as possible.

Current Setup:
- Fastest COX speed internet option.
-Rosewill n900UBE wirelss adaptor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0722KG3272&cm_re=rosewill_n900ube-_-33-166-084-_-Product
-Cisco Linyksys E1000 Router
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124385
-small 2 story condo.

Do i need to upgrade my wireless adaptor or router?

Requirements for alternative:
- Can't move modem because it's connected to the Cox tv cable box which is connected to the downstairs TV.
- Cannot run an Ethernet cable downstairs (would look terrible and parents won't allow it)
- Cant do anything involving drilling holes or going under carpet.

So my main questions here,

Do i upgrade my router and or modem? which one?
Powerline adaptor?
wifi extender?

i have a very low budget. please help and thank you.

- Buy a (old work prolly) single gang electrical device box.
- trace with pencil and cut out using drywall saw
- install single gang electrical device box.
- sweep up debris
- Run Cat6 or 5e cable though your walls (may need fish tape or fishing rods) and into said box
- Crimp each end with a connector
- Buy a grometed wall plate that matches the rest of the room / house from home depot or other major DIY / HI / Hardware store.
- Install said grometed wall plate.

Repeat for the other side.

Its not a fire hazard. its 3.3 and 5v and very little current. unless of course, No holes drilled and chances are if you can read this post you can do it without messing up your house.
