Hi guys! So my current setup is
PSU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: 2x EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ 4GB GDDR5 256bit
Mem: G.Skill 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 PC3-14900 1866MHz Sniper Series (9-10-9-28) Dual Channel kit (F3-1866C9D-16GSR)
HD: WD VelociRaptor 500 GB Workstation Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 10000 RPM, SATA III, 64 MB Cache
MB: Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
PS: Evga 750

The issue I'm having is getting the cards to go to SLI mode. I open the Nvidia control panel but the option to set them isn't there. I've verified both cards are working properly by running them each one at a time. My bio's and video drivers are all current. I've tried reinstalling my display drivers to see if that'd help but to no avail. My system recognizes both cards in the Nvidia control panel and in my devices. I'm out of ideas...

Please help!

So I tried updating the gpu bios because I noticed they were different but to no avail. My motherboard bios are also up to date. My video cards are in the top two slots of my motherboard. It only recognized both cards when they were in those slots. Any ideas?
