Which is Better MSI R9 290 Gaming 4GB or SAPPHIRE Tri-X R9 280X 3GB?

I don't know which of those video card should i buy.

The MSI R9 290 Gaming 4GB cost $311 while the SAPPHIRE Tri-X R9 280X 3GB
cost $302. The $9 difference and being not knowledgeable in Graphics Card makes me uncertain which to buy.

Can you guys please help me?

BTW This is my PC Build:
CPU: AMD FX-8350
MoBo: MSI 970 Gaming
RAM: 16gb

The 290 is a lot faster, BUT you need at least a 650w power supply.

AEROCOOL STRIKE X 80PLUS SERIES BRONZE MODULAR 600WATTS.

So MSI R9 290 is even faster than SAPPHIRE R9 280X Tri-x Vapor-x?

Yes quite a bit faster.


You would need to upgrade your power supply to use a 290 though.

That unit is not enough, it is not made for gaming systems.

BTW is AEROCOOL STRIKE X 80PLUS SERIES SILVER MODULAR 800WATTS enough for the 290?

Get something from tier 1 or 2 from this list, 650w or better:
