Hi, I have stepped onboard the PC MASTER RACE adventure and I have bought myself a new motherboard, a new cpu, gpu and ram. My question is: is it possible to still keep windows?

I have the product key

Solution
Yes absolutely! As long as you have the HDD with activated non OEM windows connected it will work fine. You won't need to reactivate or reinstall.
That depends on what version of windows you are using.
Any time you switch motherboards you have to reinstall windows, as a portion of the OS is tied to the motherboard.
Certain versions of windows however are tied to the first motherboard they are installed on, and you cant transfer them with the same license.

What he says is correct but I've had this experience before. I've got Windows 8.1 and when I got a new motherboard, I simply installed it and Windows was still activated. The startup took longer with messages like "Getting things ready" and "Optimizing". The board starting having issues so I sent it for RMA and in the meantime used my older Motherboard which again didn't require to reactivate Windows, just the same boot screen and all was working fine. When the new board arrived I installed it back and again...Windows was still activated.
Also Linus (from LinusTechTips, a very prominent YouTuber who specializes in PCs) always carries a spare SSD with fresh Windows and other software in his backpack when he travels so he can use his own personalized space on PCs he might find on the go.
