I have never done this before so I need help please. I installed the CPU using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler for overclocking. thanks.

The first step I would recommend is changing that motherboard if you plan to overclock.
Micro ATX, 4 pin power with no heatsink on the VRM's and an older chipset is really not suited for it.

A good recommendation would be the GA-970A-UD3P.

Well then... The first step I would recommend is perhaps reading some guides on overclocking the FX-6300. Then you should download some programs like HWMonitor (to watch temps), and IntelBurnTest (to test stability). From there I would say follow the guide.

Sometimes it's tricky though. I've gotten an FX-6300 to 4.4Ghz with a Hyper 212 Evo, but it took a lot of work to make it stable because the motherboard wasn't very good.
