Are these SLI cards installed correctly(PIC INSIDE) position wise?

Should they be installed so close together? one is heating up considerably (80º under stress test load) and the other isnt.

The further you can get them apart the better as far as heat goes. Both slots you use need to be at x8 PCI slots though. If your 4th slot is x4 you can't use it for SLI.

That being said, 80 degrees is not terrible when stress testing. I don't think you have anything to worry about for actual gaming purposes. When you SLI one card is almost always going to be hotter because of the heat blowing off the other card. In my case the second card usually runs about 5 degrees hotter than the first.

So i think they are installed in the 1st and 3rd

Can they be installed in the 1st and 4th to see if I get any temperature improvement or are there specific SLI slots?

Edit: If you are really worried about it you can mess with fan profiles in something like MSI Afterburner. That will allow you to turn the fan up to a higher RPM at lower temperatures and keep the heat from getting as high.
