I'm currently trying to upgrade my PC so I can play games like Skyrim (heavily moded), Arma 3/ DayZ and GTA V at close to max setting at 60-40 fps.

I know for sure I need a new Graphics card and I was thinking about getting MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G (unless there is a better one around the same price?)

But what I am unsure about is if i need to upgrade any of my other components.

My current build:

MotherBoard: M5A97 R2.0

CPU: AMD FX 6100 Six core Processor

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 430

RAM: 8 GB (Unsure of brand)

Harddrive: One 500GB HDD and One 1TB HDD (Unsure of brand)

PSU: 500 Watt (Unsure of brand)

I am looking to stay on the AMD side of things, I am only really looking to spend around $600 on new parts, but if you know a component that will work great please mention it. I trying to get ideas I am somewhat new with building/upgrading computers

Thanks

It would be better if you add an SSD onto your system as the min windows drive and install windows & other software in it. This will increase the overall speed & response of the system. Windows will boot up faster + games and other software will load quicker.

Also the PSU if not of good brand & quality should be upgraded. Go for any reputed brand like Antec, XFX, EVGA or Seasonic.

Everything else should be okay for some time to come if you are upgrading your GPU.
